Post-Construction Cleaning in Manhattan
Drywall dust in the radiators, haze on the new tile, film adhesive on the appliances, and a hallway the super wants spotless. We finish the renovation the contractor started.

Post-Construction Cleaning After Manhattan Renovations
The contractor's final clean and a finished apartment are two different things. When the last trade packs up in a Manhattan renovation, there is drywall dust inside the radiator covers and the HVAC returns, a haze on the new tile from grout that was wiped but not rinsed, adhesive from protective film on every appliance front, and paint speckles on the window glass. Fine dust keeps settling out of the air for days after the sanding stops. Running a shop vac around once does not end the job.
Manhattan adds a layer that renovations elsewhere do not have. A co-op or condo alteration agreement usually holds the owner responsible for the condition of the hallway, the service elevator, and the stairwell the crew used, and the super will not sign off until they are clean. The neighbors have been listening to drilling for months. Getting the common areas spotless on the same visit as the apartment keeps the building on your side when it is time to close out the permit.
We run the work in stages. A first pass removes leftover debris, vacuums dust from every horizontal surface, and clears the vents and radiator cavities we can reach. A detail pass follows: cabinet interiors and exteriors, appliance fronts, tile and grout, windows and tracks, doors, frames, baseboards, and closet shelving. A final pass after the dust has resettled brings floors and glass up to move-in condition. Smaller projects may need one visit. A full gut usually needs two or three.
New finishes need care, not force. Fresh paint cannot take an abrasive sponge, unsealed stone cannot take an acid, and new hardwood should not be flooded with water. Our cleaners work from the finish schedule when your contractor provides one and use the mildest product that removes the residue on each surface. Grout haze, silicone smears, and film adhesive each get a specific approach so that nothing new gets scratched on the way to clean.
We work for homeowners closing out a kitchen or bathroom project, for general contractors who need the apartment ready for a client walk-through, and for developers and brokers who need units photo-ready in a new building. We price by the job, not the square footage: bathroom projects land between $200 and $350, kitchens between $300 and $450, and a gutted one-bedroom between $450 and $650. Send photos and the scope and we will quote it before the crew leaves the site.

When Manhattan Projects Book Post-Construction Cleaning
1Co-op or Condo Alteration Sign-Off
The managing agent wants the hallway, elevator pads, and stairwell as clean as the apartment before the alteration is closed. We do the unit and the common areas the crew used in the same visit.
2Single-Room Refresh
A kitchen or bathroom remodel throws dust through the whole apartment, not just the room. We clean the renovated space and every room the dust traveled to.
3Full Gut Before the Furniture Arrives
An empty, freshly renovated apartment is the easiest to clean thoroughly. Book the final pass after the punch list is done and before the movers are scheduled.
4Photo-Ready for Brokers and Developers
Listing photos and buyer walk-throughs need spotless glass and floors without haze. We time the last pass for the day before the photographer.
Keep the New Kitchen Looking New
Once the dust is gone, a recurring schedule keeps the renovated apartment at move-in condition
Weekly
For full households, pets, roommates, and anyone who entertains
15% OFFBi-Weekly
The rhythm most New York apartments settle into
10% OFFMonthly
A reset for studios, one-bedrooms, and tidy solo households
Quarterly
A seasonal deep clean four times a year, radiator dust included.
Nobody in this city has spare hours for scrubbing. Between the commute, late nights at work, and weekends that fill up on their own, the apartment gets pushed down the list. A standing visit takes it off the list entirely. Choose weekly, every other week, or monthly, and we hold the slot for you. Traveling or hosting on a different day? Move the visit with a day's notice at no charge.
Why Manhattan Contractors and Owners Choose NYC Cleaning Service
Dust Is the Job, Not Just Debris
Fine drywall and sanding dust hides in vents, tracks, and radiator cavities and keeps settling for days. We plan multiple passes so it is actually gone.
Careful With New Finishes
We match the product to the surface and follow the finish schedule when there is one. Fresh paint, new stone, and unsealed wood are treated as new.
Common Areas Included
Hallways, service elevators, and stairwells used by the crew can be cleaned on the same visit so the super signs off the first time.
Built for Contractor Schedules
We coordinate with the GC on trade completion and building vendor hours, and we can hold a slot for the final pass once the punch list clears.

Post-Construction Cleaning ManhattanManhattan Post-Construction Cleaning Questions
Yes, if the alteration agreement or the super requires it. Tell us which common areas the crew used and we will include them in the quote. In many Upper East Side and Upper West Side co-ops, this is the item that holds up the sign-off.
It helps. Most contracts require the GC to remove bulk debris and broom-sweep. If yours did not, we can handle debris removal for an added charge, but it is cheaper when the trades take their own materials out.
Grout haze on tile and paint speckles on glass come off with the right product and a careful hand, and both are part of the detail pass. Heavy grout residue, cured caulk, or paint on a finished surface may need the contractor to correct.
A bathroom or kitchen refresh is usually one visit. A full gut renovation of a one- or two-bedroom is usually two: a first pass when the trades finish and a final pass a few days later after the airborne dust settles.
It depends on the scope of the work. Expect $200 to $350 after a bathroom renovation, $300 to $450 after a kitchen remodel, and $450 to $650 (one-bedroom) or $650 to $900 (two-bedroom) after a full gut. Larger projects and multi-unit work are quoted from photos and a walk-through.
We vacuum inside radiator covers and wipe the fins we can reach, and we clean the vent grilles and the stretch of duct that is accessible. Change the HVAC filter after the first pass and again a couple of weeks later, since the dust in the system keeps circulating for a while.
