Apartment Cleaning in The Bronx

The Bronx has more kinds of apartments than most people give it credit for. Art Deco elevator buildings line the Grand Concourse, six-story walk-ups fill the side streets off Fordham Road and in Kingsbridge, Riverdale has co-ops with doormen and river views, Parkchester has its own planned brick towers, and Mott Haven keeps adding glass condos near the waterfront. We clean all of them, and the approach changes with the building.

Pre-war Bronx apartments come with pre-war maintenance problems. Steam radiators bake dust onto the wall behind them every winter. Parquet floors show every footprint. Plaster walls and old casement windows let in more fine grit than a sealed new build, especially near the Cross Bronx or the Bruckner. A regular clean has to work harder here than in a new tower, and ours is built for that.

Access is rarely a problem for us. We are used to buzzing a super, signing a doorman log in Riverdale, or picking up a key from a neighbor while you are at work. Our cleaners carry their own supplies up the stairs in walk-ups, and they know to keep hallway noise down in buildings where the neighbors are home during the day.

Most Bronx apartment clients settle into an every-other-week visit. It keeps a one or two bedroom looking good without feeling like someone is always in your space. Weekly works well for families in the larger Concourse and Parkchester units, and for anyone with a dog that sheds. Monthly suits studios and people who tidy as they go but want the bathroom and kitchen done properly.
