Post-Construction Cleaning in The Bronx

Demo a pre-war wall on the Grand Concourse and you get plaster and horsehair dust that finds its way into every closet in the apartment. Cut tile in a Morris Park bathroom and there is a fine gray silica film on surfaces three rooms away. Every renovation leaves the same problem in a different form, and it is not a mess a regular cleaner is set up to handle.

We clean after all of it: kitchen and bath remodels in Pelham Bay and Throgs Neck houses, gut renovations of Concourse and Fordham apartments, basement conversions in Woodlawn, restored rowhouses on the Mott Haven historic blocks, and brand-new condo units in Port Morris that a developer needs turned over to a buyer.

Construction dust does not come off in one pass. It keeps settling for days after the last trade leaves, so a serious post-construction clean is done in stages: bulk debris and a first wipe of everything, then a detailed clean of every surface, fixture, cabinet interior and window, then a final pass on floors and glass once the air has cleared. We use HEPA vacuums and microfiber so the dust ends up in the bag, not back in the air.

New surfaces are easy to ruin. Grout haze needs the right remover, not a scouring pad. Stone counters and new hardwood need neutral cleaners. Protective film on windows and stickers on appliances come off cleanly if you know how. We match the product to the surface so nothing new gets scratched or etched.

For co-op and condo owners, the alteration agreement usually makes you responsible for the hallway, the service elevator and the stairs your contractor used. We can add the common areas to the scope so the building's super signs off without a second visit.
